LULAC, Lorenzo Patiño Council 2862 awarded 5 , $500 scholarships to Sacramento students at an awards ceremony August 17,2024, at the Maple Neighborhood Center of La Familia.
Council President Marîa Gutierrez and Vice President Dolores Delgado Campbell, hosted a reception with delicious Mexican food served by local California Burrito Restaurant .
The students and their families were introduced. Recipients shared their stories about choice of colleges they chose to attend and their majors.
Sacramento Board of Supervisor Patrick Kennedy presented each of the students with a certificate of recognition.
